'Tweens & Teens, ages 11-18 years

Pick up the newest beach read, graphic novel, or dystopian thriller and dig in!

This summer the more you read, the more Book Bucks you can earn to spend at the Universe of Stories Teen Silent Auctions.

One minute of reading equals one point. For every 100 points over 1,100 you are automatically entered into the grand prize drawing for a class of your choices at Gizmo, a Party Pass to the North Idaho State Fair, or an experience pass to Virtual Reality CDA.

Level 1- 250 points: 25 Book Bucks and gourmet lollipop

Level 2- 500 points: 50 Book Bucks and a pass to the North Idaho State Fair

Level 3- 750 points: 100 Book Bucks

Level 4- 1,000 points: 200 Book Bucks and a free book of your choice

Level 5- 1,100+ points: Grand prize drawing entry

Teen Silent Auctions

Grab a friend and bring your Book Bucks to the Universe of Stories Teen Silent Auction.

Enjoy a dessert buffet and bid on fun prizes, including gift cards, collectibles, school supplies, and treats. Teens are welcome to attend any of the silent auction events.

Learn the ABCs (Air, Brakes, and Chain) of bike maintenance with NIC Campus Recreation's head bike guru, Terry.

Terry breaks down the pieces of the bike into understandable terms for the first-timer. These clinics provide a gateway to feeling self-sufficient when minor bike issues arise.

The NIC Outdoor Pursuits program presents a class to teach basic bike maintenance.

The ABCs, Air (tires, tubes), Brakes, and Chain (all parts of the drive train) focus on a specific part or system of the bike. Head bike guru Terry breaks down the pieces of the bike into understandable terms to help the first timer better understand the bike.

These clinics provide a gateway to feeling self-sufficient when minor bike issues arise.

Teen Volunteers NEEDED! Come out to an Orientation!

We are looking for teens going into 7th-12th grade in the fall who are interested in volunteering for one or more of our libraries this summer.

To be eligible to volunteer, teens must attend ONE of the 6 orientations.

Volunteer responsibilities will include assisting with a variety of programs: hair chalking, tattooing, planning social media posts, reading with younger children, making book displays, creating artwork, and planning teen events/prizes.

Volunteer Party

Every Teen that volunteers for 8 or more hours this summer will be invited to the volunteer party in September. Details coming soon!

We are looking for teens going into 7th-12th grade in the fall who are interested in volunteering for one or more of our libraries this summer.

To be eligible to volunteer, teens must attend ONE of the 6 orientations.

Volunteer responsibilities will include assisting with a variety of programs: hair chalking, tattooing, planning social media posts, reading with younger children, making book displays, creating artwork, and planning teen events/prizes.
