Teen Silent Auction

Teen Volunteers Orientation Meetings

Teens entering grades 7-12 are invited to volunteer this summer for the Community Library Network.  To volunteer at any one of the District’s seven libraries, come to one orientation meeting to learn more about available opportunities.  These include program assistants, behind-the-scenes helpers, party planners, book reviewers, photographers, crafters, decorators, hair chalkers, face painters, gaming experts, and temporary tattoo artists.  Those who attend the orientation session and put in at least ten volunteer hours will be invited to a party in September.

Poetry Workshop

Unleash the poet within!

Poet and Professor from Central Washington University, Maya Jewell Zeller, will run an idea generation workshop for participants at the first session. Participants will craft a draft of poetry, on their own, for the next session where representatives from the local writing community will help them to think about how to edit their work in week two. In week three, participants will share their final work and learn about upcoming opportunities and communities that will help support them with their writing.

All participants will be published together and will be provided with a copy. Register here!

Writer and Gonzaga Professor Shann Ray will present tips on how to get started in week one. Teen Volunteers Orientation Meetings
Saturday, June 2, 9:00 am to 10:30 am

Teens entering grades 7-12 are invited to volunteer this summer for the Community Library Network.  To volunteer at any one of the District’s seven libraries, come to one orientation meeting to learn more about available opportunities.  These include program assistants, behind-the-scenes helpers, party planners, book reviewers, photographers, crafters, decorators, hair chalkers, face painters, gaming experts, and temporary tattoo artists.  Those who attend the orientation session and put in at least ten volunteer hours will be invited to a party in September.

Poet and Professor from Central Washington University, Maya Jewell Zeller, will run an idea generation workshop for participants at the first session. Participants will craft a draft of poetry, on their own, for the next session where representatives from the local writing community will help them to think about how to edit their work in week two. In week three, participants will share their final work and learn about upcoming opportunities and communities that will help support them with their writing.
