Special Events

Read and win 2 tickets to Sesame Street Live!

Between now and December 5, read 100 books with your child, log what you read on the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten page to be automatically entered into the drawing.
Log in or create an account at CommunityLibrary.net/1000Books.
Drawing will be held December 5, 5pm. Winner will receive 2 tickets to the December 8, 2pm show of Sesame Street Live! at the Spokane Arena.
Prize valued at $125. One entry per child. Drawing open to families with children age birth-5.


Rathdrum Library Holiday Stroll

Rathdrum library and the neighboring businesses invite you to take a Holiday Stroll.  

The library will be issuing horse-drawn wagon ride tickets an hour before the 5 p.m. start time.  The bookmobile will be there too, serving up hot cider and cocoa while you wait for your ride. At 5:30 p.m., Lakeland High School choir, under the direction of Mark Sescilla will perform seasonal music. Visit all the shops while enjoying seasonal music and yummy treats.  Partnering businesses will hold a holiday basket drawing and Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will make a special appearance.

Bring the Family and join us for a fun evening of cookie decorating.

Post Falls Frozen Party, for ages 5-12

Saturday, December 7 at 12:30 and 2:30

Come join us in making “Frozen” themed snow scenes with frosting, candy, and all the trimmings to help us celebrate the season!  

Do you want to build a snowman, an igloo or a castle? The possibilities are endless!  There will also be a surprise visit by Elsa! This program replaces our “Make a Gingerbread House.” Space is limited.

Stop by the Post Falls Library to sign up or register below.  For ages 5 -12. Each child will need to be registered individually.

Come to the Athol library for a special storytime. Ms. Bethany will read holiday stories then we will decorate cards to be mailed. Kids will learn to address envelopes. Then we will go to the post office together to buy stamps and send our cards. Who you send your card to is entirely up to you!

This book club is geared to ages 8-11. We will read and discuss books of all genres. 

At our first meeting, we will read short stories and decide what to read for November.

Take advantage of our drop-in hours for some R&R. Enjoy a cup of joe, light refreshments, and the tranquil sound of colored pencils on paper. All ages welcome!
