Programs for Kids

Early Learners, ages Birth-4 years

Reading together is fun and will create life-long memories for the whole family.

Keep track of the books you’ve read with our easy-to-use online platform, in a notebook, on our reading log, or however you choose!

Every early learner who registers for summer reading can earn a free book when they complete the Activity Log. Logs are available at each of our libraries and can be redeemed through August 31.

Early Learners can also join the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program! Read 100 books this summer and receive prize. Then stop by the library for a photo-op, a milestone sticker, and a high-five!

Kids, ages 5-10 years

The more you read, the more Book Bucks you can earn to spend at the Universe of Stories Book Buck Store.

Whether you read books or magazines, someone reads to you, or you listen to an audiobook—it all counts!

One minute of reading equals one point. For every 100 points over 1,100 you are automatically entered into the grand prize drawing for a class of your choice at Gizmo or a Family Pass to the North Idaho State Fair.

Level 1- 250 points: Glow in the dark moon and stars

Level 2- 500 points: 50 Book Bucks and a pass to the North Idaho State Fair

Level 3- 750 points: 100 Book Bucks and a free ride on the Carousel at Cd’A City Park

Level 4- 1,000 points: 200 Book Bucks and a free book of your choice

Level 5- 1,100+ points: Grand prize drawing entry
