    We have a small group of trained Reiki practitioners who offer 30-minute Reiki treatments at 5:30 and 6:00 (limited to two participants per time slot).

    The International Center for Reiki Training says "Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive."

    The Children's Advisory Board meets once a month on 2nd Thursdays. At each meeting, Kid Advisers will get access to books before they are published. They will spend the next month reading as many of these new books as they want. Then, at the next meeting, Kid Advisers will let the library know if we should add these books to our collection. Kid Advisers will also help us plan and evaluate new programs they think their fellow kids will enjoy!

    Palliative care is a multidisciplinary approach to specialized medical and nursing care for people with life-limiting illnesses. It focuses on providing relief from the symptoms, pain, physical stress, and mental stress at any stage of illness.

    Toni James, a palliative care nurse with Kootenai Health, will discuss just how important palliative care is. People battling cancer, survivors, and people supporting them are all welcome to attend.
